Here's a look at what's trending in my life right now.

On My Night Table
The Biology of Belief by Bruce Lipton
I'm still reading books made out of paper. I don't have any of the new e-book devices because of the salt retention in my fingers. Touching those little flat screens makes me feel like I'm carrying around 10 Italian sausages. Then I start thinking about my marinara sauce and the owner at my last restaurant. He fired me, but he was also the one who referred me to Bruce. So I'm grateful.
Back to Bruce. His book is heady stuff about how we make ourselves a lot less lovable than we could be, considering everything we've got rattling around upstairs. We know how to create a lot of stress for ourselves. At least that's my take on it. Anyway, Bruce does a bang up job of trying to straighten us out. He's a real crack up, especially when he talks about his time teaching in Central America. I'd love to have him over for dinner one night.
Favorite return
Ice cream. I ate half the container before I realized I was staying away from chocolate for the week. The cashier was a young kid, either not too bright or he didn't want to argue with me. I got a full refund and a gallon of vanilla.

This one is for the scrap book. A gem. Any beginning is a good beginning in my book. And let's face it, it's the kids who will sort us out. I'm not saying it'll be easy but I'm pretty much past my prime when it comes to making people wake up. Half the time I'm trying to keep myself from falling asleep or I'm wide awake and I can't wind down. It's at the dinner party when things really fall into place and start clicking. Like magic. I hope you can make it over and see for yourself. Tonight I'm serving tilapia with sweet corn on parchment paper.
News Flash
I'm on a media black out. I try to alternate it with my juice cleanse. I don't advise doing both at the same time. No news is good news, until you're trying to take your mind off your stomach.
